Innisfail Toastmasters Club will be running a speechcraft course over 4 Weeks commencing in April 2016 (19th April – 10th May).
The course structure is over four successive Tuesday evenings throughout April 2016 from 7:30pm til 9:30pm.
Speechcraft is a seminar-style presentation that teaches basic Toastmasters skills: speaking and evaluating.
The course will cover a breadth of important and useful information for members of the public wanting to improve their skills and confidence when speaking in any situation.
The course will cover areas including:
- the importance of good public speaking skills
- how to structure and deliver impromptu speeches
- effective speaking skills
- selecting a speech topic
- the art (and benefits) of evaluation
- organising (structuring) your speech
- choosing and using your words to engage your audience
- speaking with conviction
- effective use of gestures and body language. and
- ways of modulating your voice to enhance your speech.
There will be experienced guest speakers to entertain and provide practical examples of great speech delivery, and you will be challenged (in a fun, supportive environment) to deliver a short speech on either the third or fourth week. Participation and practice is key to improving your skills!!
Remember, you will also be able to further develop your abilities (in this critical area of personal and professional growth) into the future by joining our club and meeting regularly with like-minded people in a friendly atmosphere. Toastmasters is also recognised by some companies as a professional development opportunity.

The course fee is $55, for 4 weeks of tuition, examples and interactive activities. Part of this fee will contribute to your application fee should you join our club upon conclusion of the course.
